Being a member of the Austin area community comes with a great deal of responsibility and an even greater sense of purpose. Austin is home to the best of the best in the world, whether its live music, tech, food, or sense of community. Few places can say they have that true Austin spirit, but Eddie and his lucky daughters are part of a minority of Austinites who can say that they were born, raised, and thrive in the Austin area. Being a true Austinite, and running a family owned and operated Austin business allows Eddie, and his team the opportunity to give back to their city in an incredible way.
Capitol Cleaners is a long time running sponsor of Rodeo Austin one of the top Rodeos in the country. Rodeo Austin is a year-round nonprofit funded by a month-long real western experience held every March whose community impact stretches far beyond an annual ProRodeo. Rodeo Austin creates scholarships, enhances agricultural education, and provides various opportunities for youth to succeed. Along with financial contributions, Eddie gives his time to Rodeo Austin as a dedicated volunteer since 1978, Board of Directors member since 2001, and most recently having the honor of serving as Rodeo Austin President in 2017. Giving back is a family affair with both daughters, Ashley (Board of Directors member since 2013) and Brittany, volunteering their time to an organization and mission that holds a special place within the Ledesma family's heart.
Along with the above, Capitol Cleaners hosts the annual Capitol Cleaners' Dirty Laundry Polar Bear Golf Tournament every President's Day, where all proceeds go towards to 4H and FFA auctions, providing funds for future projects and education. Through competitive livestock and youth fair projects, students learn critical life skills including personal responsibility, financial and time management, good sportsmanship, hard work and integrity.
